I painted a couple of paintings based on this particular site.  One of the reasons was how incredibly stark and beautiful it was, and another was because I lived for a period of time in a very similar location while my kids went to the local school.  In the summer we moved back to the Sawtooth Valley.  There was one particular spot known locally as "the buffalo jump" where Indians drove herds of Bison over the precipice before horses were common.
