When I first titled this little painting as a play on words, I did not think it through until some Smart Alecky friends asked me what the trapper was packing out on those horses.  Hmmm.  In spite of the insult to his character, I decided to leave the title and let people think what their morbid and twisted little brains led them to think.  Actually, I guess it is kind of funny.  I don't think pot smoking was done widely on the frontier, but I don't know either for sure.
