I remember as a young boy looking towards the sunset and seeing pickups coming East on the dirt and gravel road and I was immediately struck by the beauty of the golden glowing dust boiling up from the wheels of the truck.  It is wonderful that a simple image like that stays with a person for their whole life.  Here is a rancher waiting with a spare horse eagerly anticipating the return of his son from someplace pretty far away.  They are lucky that a stagecoach route came within riding distance of their ranch.  Otherwise it would be a much longer ride to the nearest scheduled stage stop.
