"A Summer Evening"

6" x 12" Oil on Linen

I have done several small paintings of this theme using different locations and casts. This is a subject that appeals to me and I believe it harkens to my times at the end of the day after cutting and hauling logs for my house. I was bone tired and sitting outside at the campfire and watching the night birds circling the sky overhead and the sun down glowing behind the peaks.  It was certainly a time for small talk and reflection.  It was a special time of the day and I drank it in until it got too chilly for my t-shirt and I went to bed and slept to repeat the process over again the next day.
