"Between a Rock and a Hard Place"

16" x 12" Oil on Linen

It's mighty difficult to do business in a neighborhood where your talents are not appreciated.  Well, sometimes it's because you act different or you look and talk differently.  Maybe you just had a disagreement over a  slightly sorta complicated transaction.  Or maybe it was just one of those crazy things that can and does happen.  Whatever this Mountain Man's problem may be, he has all he can handle right at present. I sense that his predicament has moved beyond the idea of talking it out peaceably.  The gentlemen looking over the rim are serious.  He can only hope his pursuers will grow bored with the chase and take their search for vengeance somewhere else.  Some guy told me that this painting reminds him of his daily life but I don't know about that for sure!
