"Evening Idyll"

14" x 18" Oil on Linen

When I think about camping, it means to me to place myself in a temporary living situation that is apart from my permanent home.  But what if you do not have a permanent home as it describes a shelter on a particular plot of land.  Are nomads camping?  I do not think that concept has any meaning to them.  Not as it would to a sedentary people.  They were home so long as they were in their lands, wherever that might be.   Their Lodges were not "camping tents."   Those of you who are "nomads" with tin tipis pulled by many horses have something in common with the Plains Tribes.
