"Mt. McGowan at Stanley Lake"

20" x 30" Oil on Linen

Mt. McGowan was named after the McGowan Brothers who ran cattle in the area around the lake in the late 19th and early 20th Century.  It is a rugged and beautiful set of peaks and Stanley Lake, formed during the Ice Age by glaciers gouging out the lake site, is one of the most photographed lakes and mountains in Idaho.  Beautiful and pristine, it is one of the Gems in the Gem State.
