"Negotiations"

11" x 14" Oil on Linen

Here is a party of trapper/traders who are negotiating with the locals to cross their land and maybe strike up a trading session at their village.  This was the right thing to do, then and now.  People who traded with the Indian nations on the plains were most successful when they employed the same techniques that are successful in business today.  It's amazing to contemplate the extensive variety of items used by Native Americans and which are reminiscent of American Indian Cultures but that originated all around the world.
