"No Time To Roll A Smoke"

11" x 14" Oil on Linen

This is an early painting I did that my Dad really liked and I gave it to him for Christmas that year.  There were a number of Packers and Guides at work in the Central Idaho area due to the proximity of the Wilderness and some good Deer and Elk hunting.  They were all interesting people and had a wealth of stories of their careers in the wilds with their strings of horses.  As I imagined it, this man didn't have a whole lot on his mind at that moment.  Just getting to a spot where his horse had all four on solid trail was his only thought.  I predict that everyone survived but not without some hurt.
