This stately old Montana horse shows evidence of hard work but not abuse.  Horse loving people, especially good ranchers and cowboys who grow to love and respect their horses, treat them as members of the family - which they are. When their work days are nearing an end they are given a retirement fit for a well loved veteran.  I believe that those horses, even given their daily freedom, somehow miss the daily routine that they had for so many years.  I certainly know people are the same way - sometimes.
