"On the Shady Side"

18" x 24" Oil on Linen

Not every person who settled in the Old West was cut out for hard work.  Most of the occupations available to people who were otherwise untrained in a local trade had the unfortunate requirements that was understood to stand for hard work.  These two characters haven't worked real hard except to roll the rock across the road to stop the afternoon stage so's they could ask a few questions of the driver and passengers.  I don't know.  A lot of things could go wrong here.
