"The Arrow Maker"

8" x 10" Pen, Ink, and Watercolor Wash

Like all the crafts we use to get through life, more modern techniques and equipment supplant what is familiar with things that are usually more efficient but not as well understood.  Eventually the old methods and tool are forgotten.  It is a rare instance where a person has the knowledge of arrow making, having learned from curiosity and not necessity.  The knapping of arrowheads disappeared long before the technique of arrow making disappeared.  Steel points took the place of flint and obsidian years before.  It was and is a beautiful craft.
