This is a painting I did for Caxton Printers of Caldwell, Idaho for the cover of a very fine book of the same title written by Keith Algier.  He describes in some detail the history of the Crow Nation's shaky relationship with neighboring tribes and the costs of the intrusion by the US government into their lives and the resulting sad downfall of a powerful and rich nation.  Some very good writing and reading!
