Of the large cattle operations in the Western states, many had humble beginnings.  Some were started in the rudest of shelters until they could get time to erect something more roomy and warm.  This little homestead home at least has four substantial walls and a roof that didn't leak unless it rained.  With hard work and few luxuries, hard working cowboys and ranchers were able to reinvest in their herds and in their lifestyle.
