"When the Tables Turn"
16" x 20" Oil on Canvas
This piece is one of the first I painted the first winter we spent in the little three room cabin at Obsidian, Idaho. The Sawtooth National Forest which became the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, abounds with a wide variety of animals including Mule Deer, Elk, Black Bear, Cougar. the occasional Pronghorn and Moose and Wolves. This incident between a young Cougar and a Mulie is happening on a slope to the north of Redfish Lake, about six miles from where we built. The lake lies over the moraine behind the action. I think this is a very surprised kitty. |
